Liberal Script

Living freely, living differently, living together?

How do liberal societies stick together? A short animation film about the concept of the “Liberal Script“, its meaning, challenges, criticisms and contestations. The film introduces the public opinion survey “PALS – Public Attitudes towards the Liberal Script(s)” and its approach to measuring views on liberal democracy, liberal economy and liberal values from a global perspective. PALS is one of several research projects of the Cluster of Excellence “Contestations of the Liberal Script (SCRIPTS)”, a research consortium that unites eight major Berlin-based research institutes and is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). This video is a result of the Visual Society Program (ViSoP), a collaboration between the WZB Berlin Social Science Center and the Universität der Künste Berlin (UdK).
